Blocks 2023 mortgage fee rules

If enacted, this bill would stop the Federal Housing Finance Agency and the enterprises (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) from using the mortgage credit fee pricing changes announced on January 19, 2023. It would declare Lender Letter LL–2023–01 and Bulletin 2023–1 to have no force or effect. The bill would preserve the enterprises' ability to use risk-based pricing for single-family mortgage credit fees. If your mortgage is sold to or guaranteed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, you and the lenders who sell loans to the enterprises would be affected. Effective upon enactment.
