More support to prevent child trafficking

If enacted, the Office for Victims of Crime (Department of Justice) would continue implementing the Government Accountability Office recommendations from the December 11, 2023 report titled "Child Trafficking: Addressing Challenges to Public Awareness and Survivor Support." The bill would require OVC to work with the Office on Trafficking in Persons (Administration for Children and Families) to develop and carry out strategies to prevent child trafficking and support child survivors using the leading collaboration practices referenced in GAO-24-106038. The agencies would set achievable, objective, measurable, and quantifiable performance goals and targets for child anti‑trafficking programs, using baseline data from program grantees. Not later than 180 days after enactment, the OVC Director would submit a report to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees describing the steps taken to meet these coordination and performance-goal requirements. The bill itself would not authorize new funding or create new entitlement programs.
