  • Naturalized people: Individuals who obtained U.S. citizenship by naturalization would face revocation of their final order admitting them to citizenship and cancellation of their certificate of naturalization after a conviction under 18 U.S.C. 2339A or 2339B.
  • Federal courts: The federal court that tries and convicts the person would have jurisdiction and must carry out the denaturalization adjudication to revoke citizenship and cancel the certificate.
  • Scope and process limits: The change applies only to naturalized citizens and only to convictions under those two statutes. The bill does not create new agencies, funding, phase in dates, or new appeal procedures and it does not alter the criminal proof standard for the underlying convictions.
