Blocks federal suits over border barriers

If enacted, the bill would bar the U.S. Attorney General from bringing or keeping civil suits under sections 9 or 10 of the March 3, 1899 Act against a State that builds a physical barrier on its international border. The ban would cover suits already pending on the date of enactment and future suits. The bill defines "barrier" to include walls, fences, or floating buoys. It also uses the Immigration and Nationality Act definitions for "alien" and "immigration laws."
