Expressing support for the recognition of August 17 through August 23, 2026, as "Warehouse Worker Recognition Week", celebrating the workers in the logistics industry.

Sponsored By: Representative Torres, Norma J. [D-CA-35]

Introduced

Summary

Warehouse Worker Recognition Week: This resolution would designate August 17–23, 2026 to celebrate the role of more than 1.8 million warehousing and storage workers and raise public awareness of their contributions to the supply chain. It would call attention to long hours and dangerous summer heat—warehouses can surpass 90 degrees Fahrenheit—and note the Inland Empire's role in distributing goods through the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports, which handle about 40 percent of U.S. imports. The resolution would encourage recognition, promote safety and injury reduction, and support the needs of these frontline workers.
