A resolution honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Edwin J. Feulner, and commending Dr. Feulner for his life-long commitment to the conservative movement and his distinct contributions to his country.
Sponsored By: Representative Pfluger, August [R-TX-11]
Introduced
Summary
Honoring the conservative leader Dr. Edwin J. Feulner Jr. This resolution would recognize his life and career and commend his decades of influence on conservative public policy. It records his founding of the Republican Study Committee in 1973 and his role founding the Heritage Foundation, where he served as president for 36 years and expanded the staff from about 12 employees into a leading conservative think tank. It notes his early Capitol Hill service, his 1989 Presidential Citizens Medal, his nine books, his long marriage and family, and his July 18, 2025 death at age 83. The resolution respectfully suggests the President consider awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously.
