Supporting the designation of October 23, 2025, as "National Marine Sanctuary Day".

Sponsored By: Representative Huffman, Jared [D-CA-2]

Introduced

Summary

National Marine Sanctuary Day would designate October 23, 2025 as a day to celebrate and support the National Marine Sanctuary System. The resolution ties that recognition to the Marine Protection, Research, and Sanctuaries Act of 1972 and highlights sanctuaries' roles in conserving marine and Great Lakes habitats, protecting shipwrecks and cultural places, and fueling coastal economies through fishing, tourism, recreation, science, and jobs. It urges public visitation, community stewardship, and coordinated federal support.
