Stronger broadband funding map data
If enacted, the FCC, working with NTIA, would collect federal broadband funding data for the national map on a timely basis. The goal would be to cut overlap and target funds better so unserved communities get built out sooner. Within 270 days, the FCC would start a public inquiry on how to improve the map’s function and clarity, and finish it within 120 days. Any Commissioner could require a vote before it starts; if requested, a majority would need to approve.
