Sponsored By: Senator Hawley, Josh [R-MO]
Introduced
Summary
keeps Farm Service Agency services running during a funding lapse. This bill would authorize temporary funding from Treasury to the Department of Agriculture so the Farm Service Agency can continue operating its programs, offices, and farm loan services in Fiscal Year 2026 if annual or continuing appropriations are not enacted. It would also cover costs for services missed between September 30, 2025 and the law's enactment, and the funding would remain available only until FY2026 appropriations are enacted.

Keep Farm Service Agency Open
This bill would provide whatever funds are needed from the Treasury in FY2026 to keep Farm Service Agency (FSA) programs and offices running when USDA funding has lapsed. It would keep farm loan services and other FSA help available during any funding gap. It would also pay for services that were missed because of a lapse that began on September 30, 2025 until the date this bill is enacted. The temporary funding would stop once FY2026 Agriculture appropriations, including any continuing resolution, are enacted into law.
