Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program Enhancement Act of 2025
Sponsored By: Senator Cornyn, John [R-TX]
Introduced
Summary
Independent academic review of the Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program. This bill would require the Department of Agriculture to offer, within one year, a contract to a land-grant college or a non-land-grant college of agriculture to evaluate the program run by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service with the Texas Animal Health Commission. The review must assess how well the program prevents and reduces cattle fever ticks, the benefits and compliance burdens for cattle producers, the treatment protocols used, and the federal and state funds allocated for the most recent fiscal year. USDA would report the review results and recommend improvements to the House and Senate agriculture committees within one year of signing the contract.
