Protect local postal processing centers
This bill would stop the Postal Service from closing, consolidating, downgrading, or similarly changing a processing and distribution center when that action would leave a State with no such center. A "processing and distribution center" means a central mail facility that handles incoming and outgoing mail and gives mailers preparation and dispatch instructions. The rule would apply to every State and the District of Columbia. It would take effect upon enactment. The bill would not create new funding or new enforcement programs.
