Show full summary
- Federal agencies and IT managers would have to remove any covered application from government information technology. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) must issue standards and guidelines within 60 days to require removal and align with federal information security rules.
- Law enforcement, national security offices, and security researchers could be exempted under narrow exceptions. Any authorized use under an exception would require agencies to develop and document risk mitigation actions for that use.
