Triple U.S. exports to Africa and Latin America

This bill would require the President to write a plan to grow U.S. exports to Africa and to Latin America and the Caribbean. The plan would aim to raise exports to each region by 200% in real dollars within 10 years. The President would have to send the plan to Congress within 200 days and a progress report within 3 years. The Commerce Secretary would name special coordinators to run and coordinate the effort. The plan would have to consider partner-country jobs and supply-chain risks.

Standardized export training for overseas officers

This bill would require the President to create a standardized training plan on export finance and support programs. All U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service officers overseas would need the training within one year. If no Commercial Service officer is posted, the U.S. State Department economic officer in that country would need the training. The training would cover EXIM, the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, the SBA, and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency.
