Armed Services Committee spending rules
If adopted, this resolution would let the Senate Armed Services Committee spend from the Senate contingent fund from March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2027. It would set three period caps: $6.09 million (Mar 1–Sep 30, 2025), $10.44 million (Oct 1, 2025–Sep 30, 2026), and $4.35 million (Oct 1, 2026–Feb 28, 2027). Each period would also limit consultant pay and staff training (for example $37,000 and $12,000 in the first period). The resolution would let the committee employ staff and use personnel from other agencies with prior consent. It would allow needed agency contribution payments from the "Expenses of Inquiries and Investigations" account for the same periods. It would also let the chairman approve vouchers and waive vouchers for routine items like annual salaries, telecommunications, stationery, Postmaster payments, certain copying charges, recording and photographic services, and franked or mass mail costs.
