Summary

National Beef Month — the Senate expresses support for designating May 2026 as National Beef Month to recognize cattle’s role in U.S. agriculture and beef’s nutritional value. In 2024 cattle production was the largest share of cash receipts at $112.1 billion and has historically provided about 22% of farm cash receipts. The United States produces roughly 19% of global beef, raises over 86.2 million head of cattle, and holds the largest fed-cattle inventory.
