Summary
This bill would make distributing fentanyl that causes a death punishable by _death or life imprisonment_. It would add Section 424 to the Controlled Substances Act to apply that enhanced penalty when a person is convicted under CSA sections 401(a)(1) or 416 for distributing, manufacturing, or possessing with intent to distribute fentanyl and a death results. The provision also allows a monetary fine under Title 18, United States Code.
