More 988 suicide-prevention signs for students

This bill would require a youth suicide prevention public awareness campaign run with the Secretary. It would require public outreach while developing the campaign and provide support to schools to update signage. Signs would have to be clear and visible and show the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline phone number. Signs would say students can call or text 988 or use 988 online chat, encourage students to seek help, and state the service is free, confidential, and available 24/7. Schools would have to display or digitally post signs in visible places such as entrances and exits, common areas, counselor and nurse offices, gymnasiums, auditoriums, art and music rooms, libraries, student restrooms (including stalls and sinks), locker rooms, and digital school bulletin boards. If enacted, these requirements would take effect upon enactment.
