Notice

Summary

The Department of Defense wants your thoughts on a new info collection plan that helps them do their job better. If you’re someone who might fill out their forms, now’s the time to speak up before April 13, 2026. They’re also looking for ways to make the process easier and less time-consuming, with no extra costs expected.

Analyzed Economic Effects

4 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 2 mixed.

Mandatory DoDEA Student Registration

If your child attends a Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) school, the sponsor must register the student annually using DoDEA Form 600. All students are required to be registered to attend DoDEA schools; registration information is used to determine enrollment categories such as tuition-free or tuition-paying and whether enrollment is space-required or space-available.

Student Records and Services Data Collection

DoDEA will collect student information for age verification, class and transportation schedules, attendance and withdrawal records, academic progress, grades, course and grade credits, placement and educational services, activities, awards, and special interests. This information supports school operations and student services.

Annual Time Burden for Sponsors

The DoD estimates 72,950 respondents will complete the collection once per year, with an average burden of 22.5 minutes per response and total annual burden of 27,356 hours. The frequency of the collection is annual.

Sure Start Medical/Dental Exam Requirement

Sponsors of students enrolled in the DoDEA Sure Start Program must provide the Sure Start Medical/Dental Examination information using DoDEA Form 1307 as part of the information collection. Respondents for this form are sponsors of students in the Sure Start Program.
