Published Date: 2/20/2026

Notice

Summary

The VA is updating how it collects info for the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program to make sure it works well and isn’t too much trouble. Veterans groups applying for these grants will be affected and can comment on the changes until April 21, 2026. This update helps keep the program strong and focused on saving lives without wasting time or money.

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.

Grantee Organizations Face Reporting Burden

If your veterans service organization applies for SSG Fox SPGP grants, you must complete applications, renewals, and multiple compliance reports (VA Forms 10-315a, 10-315b, 10-316a-f). For example, VA estimates 250 applicants for Form 10-315a (35 hours each = 8,750 hours) and 90 renewal applicants for Form 10-315b (10 hours each = 900 hours).

Veterans Must Complete Screening and Surveys

Veterans participating in SSG Fox SPGP-funded services will be asked to complete eligibility screenings, intake assessments, satisfaction surveys, and exit checklists (VA Forms 10-317a-d and the C-SSRS). VA estimates, for example, Form 10-317c (Participant Satisfaction) will cover 5,000 respondents (1,250 hours total) and the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) will total 1,508 hours annually.

Public Comment Opportunity Deadline

The VA is accepting public comments on this proposed information collection through April 21, 2026. Anyone may submit comments at www.regulations.gov about whether the collection is necessary, accurate, or can be made less burdensome.
