Fee notices and itemized bills for University of Alaska students

Beginning July 1, 2027, the University of Alaska must email enrolled students before any new mandatory fee or fee increase. The email states the amount, the reason, and how the money will be used. When practicable, it comes at least 30 days before the fee takes effect. “Mandatory fee” excludes course, matriculation, and parking permit fees, and others excluded by Board policy. The university also must give each student an itemized bill that lists tuition and each fee charged.
