The law takes effect immediately and replaces earlier Talladega County sheriff pay laws. Until January 18, 2027, the sheriff keeps the base salary received on May 31, 2025. The sheriff also gets a $15,200.32 yearly expense allowance, starting immediately. Beginning January 18, 2027, a $112,000 yearly base salary replaces that salary and allowance. The allowance and new salary are paid in equal monthly installments from the county general fund.
