New salaries for Tallapoosa County officials

Beginning June 1, 2026, Tallapoosa County’s revenue commissioner and probate judge keep their May 31, 2026 base salaries. County general fund allowances bring total yearly pay to $100,000 for the commissioner and $106,000 for the judge. These allowances are paid in equal monthly installments until each office’s next term. Starting with those terms, the allowances end and those amounts become base salaries, paid in equal monthly installments. The commissioner’s salary replaces all other legally provided salary or compensation; the judge’s salary replaces other legally provided salary. The judge’s new salary also replaces the pay rules from the 1969 law, as amended in 1978. Next-term salaries use the same funding sources used on June 1, 2026.
