Beginning June 1, 2026, Tallapoosa County’s probate judge may charge extra fees for remote access to office records by computer or another electronic system. The law sets no fee amount. Fees must go into the judge’s special indexing fund or a successor special fund under the judge’s control. The judge decides how to spend this money on office upkeep, operations, technology, and improvements, including recording and remote-access services. The law also validates remote-access fees collected and spent before June 1, 2026.
