Wilcox County probate document mailing fees

Beginning October 1, 2026, Wilcox County’s probate judge can charge up to $5 to mail a probate document. This charge does not cover motor vehicle license renewals. The law sets a maximum, not a required charge.

Wilcox County mail renewals and fees

Beginning October 1, 2026, Wilcox County’s probate judge can mail vehicle license renewal applications to people previously issued a license. Applications can be postcards but must include enough information to identify and process the renewal. Returning a signed application with proper payment before the license expires authorizes the judge to renew it by mail. The county commission can set a mailing fee up to $3, or an alternative fee up to $10 total for requested priority delivery of a plate or decal. The judge collects these fees when issuing the license and pays them into the county’s general fund.
