Beginning June 1, 2026, an added expense allowance brings the Henry County sheriff’s total annual pay to $94,000. Beginning January 18, 2027, a $94,000 annual base salary replaces all other expense allowances and forms of pay. Starting that date, each second or later consecutive elected term brings an 8% increase in the then-current salary. Returning after a break in service resets pay as though entering office for the first time. Beginning June 1, 2026, the sheriff also receives all benefits provided to Henry County Commission employees. The law bars pay increases under Chapter 2A of Subtitle 1 of Title 11 of the Alabama Code. It repeals the former sheriff pay law and replaces that framework with these rules.
