Beginning June 1, 2026, Wilcox County’s probate office collects $10 per real estate or personal property document recorded, up from $5. This fee is added to all other required fees, taxes, and charges. The county governing body may also require the fee for other documents. Documents subject to the fee cannot be accepted for recording until it is paid. The law replaces the county’s prior probate recording fee rules.
