Alabama keeps construction recruitment institute until 2028

Beginning June 1, 2026, the law keeps the Alabama Construction Recruitment Institute operating until October 1, 2028. It also preserves the laws governing the institute. The institute, Alabama Department of Workforce, and other interested parties must study options for sharing the department’s staff and resources. Their report is due to the Sunset Committee chair and other lawmakers as appropriate by the tenth legislative day of the 2027 Regular Session. After submitting the report, the parties’ review duties and meetings end. The law provides no direct household payments.
