Alabama aerospace authority gains investment tools

Beginning October 1, 2026, the Alabama Aerospace and Defense Authority must plan ways to attract private investment. It works with the U.S. Space and Rocket Center Commission to explain space exploration and promote space tourism and training. It can make public and private agreements and accept gifts, loans, and grants for its work. These tools and other actions must support its legal purposes and stay within legal limits. Its bylaws and policies need Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs approval. New, changed, or repealed bylaws and policies must go to the Legislative Council for review. The law provides no specific funding amount or direct household payment.
