New salary for Montgomery County probate judge

The law takes effect June 1, 2026. Beginning October 1, 2026, it sets an annual salary of $153,725, replacing any other salary. This applies to the person who served as Montgomery County probate judge on June 1, 2025. The law retains the $88,000 annual baseline that began October 1, 1996. Under that framework, raises may match the percentage given to all full-time county employees in the same fiscal year. Those raises cannot exceed $3,000 in any fiscal year. Pay comes from the Montgomery County Commission’s general fund and is handled like other county employee pay.
