Beginning June 1, 2026, the law keeps Alabama’s 911 Board operating and preserves its governing laws through October 1, 2028. Groups recommending board members must name at least two candidates for each position. Appointees serve their terms unless the Senate chooses to review and rejects their appointment. The Senate confirmation committee can also review appointments, and its rejection counts as rejection by the full Senate. These changes do not set a new household fee or benefit.
