Alabama allows spending on emergency preparedness education

Beginning October 1, 2026, Alabama’s Emergency Management Agency director may use approved state funds to buy public emergency preparedness materials. The director may also buy other items reasonably needed for the agency’s work. These purchases must use appropriated funds—money approved for agency spending. The law sets no dollar amount.
