Employers face tighter assigned-risk coverage rules

Arizona employers turned down by at least two insurers are not placed in the assigned-risk plan when a listed disqualifier applies. Disqualifiers include knowingly failing safety, audit, or loss-prevention rules on a current or prior policy; blocking reasonable access to records; owing an undisputed premium; or knowingly breaking application rules or misstating important facts. Employers placed in the plan can be removed under another state law. This change does not state the grounds or process for removal.
