More registration flexibility for Arizona ambulances

Arizona ambulance services can request a first registration lasting less than one year to align annual inspections across their fleet. With a complete, timely renewal application, the health department can extend registration until inspection when it cannot meet the legal inspection deadline. The law also treats qualifying registrations that lapsed between March 31, 2022, and August 1, 2024, as valid during those lapses. This relief requires missed renewal applications, an active certificate of necessity, current ambulance registrations under the updated law, and payment of all overdue application fees. The inspection-delay rule and past-lapse relief expire December 31, 2025.
