Drivers pay for West Valley charity plates

Drivers pay $25 for an original West Valley charity plate and each renewal. The fee includes an $8 administration fee for the state highway fund and a $17 annual donation to the charity fund. ADOT issues the plate after someone pays $32,000 for implementation by December 31, 2025, and ADOT approves the plate design and color. The fund first repays that $32,000 payment, and no more than 10% of yearly deposits can cover fund costs. The director awards the remaining money each year through a grant process to a qualifying charity that has existed since 2013, has at least 50 active volunteers, and serves Phoenix West Valley communities.
