Stronger enforcement for long-term care insurance
Beginning July 1, 2026, Connecticut’s Insurance Commissioner can investigate suspected violations of long-term care insurance rules by covered policy issuers. After an investigation and hearing, the commissioner can order a plan to fix problems, impose other remedies, or issue penalties. The commissioner can also approve a plan before the hearing ends or refer suspected violations to the Attorney General. These powers strengthen oversight but do not guarantee policyholders money or a specific financial recovery.

To make various changes to the general statutes (1) governing Judicial Branch operations, processes and procedures, and (2) affecting civil and criminal proceedings.
SB 00484, AN ACT CONCERNING DISTRACTED DRIVING AND THE SAFE OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE IN A HIGHWAY WORK ZONE.
To (1) include the playing of a video on a mobile electronic device that is in full view to the person who is operating the vehicle as a form of distracted driving, and (2) specify that distracted driving in a highway work zone is a violation of the state's reckless driving statute.
