Special education for adults in DC custody

If you are in DC Department of Corrections custody in a secure facility and have a disability, you can get a free appropriate public education. Coverage starts at age 18 and lasts until your IDEA eligibility ends under DC law. This applies only during the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years. The DOC must provide services that meet IDEA and DC standards.
