2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

DC emergency law in effect 90 days

This emergency law takes effect after Mayor approval or after a Council veto override. It stays in effect for no more than 90 days under District emergency rules.

Some DC clemency applicants can skip five-year wait

You can ask the DC Clemency Board to waive the five-year waiting rule. You must send a written request. The Board needs notice from the U.S. Office of the Pardon Attorney that you already got a five-year waiver under Department of Justice rules. The Board can still deny the waiver. The Board cannot grant a waiver if you are on probation, parole, or supervised release. The Board may ask for more information or a meeting and must send you a written decision. Your clemency application is put on hold until the Board decides the waiver.
