Clear deadlines for pretrial detention reports

This law applies as of January 1, 2025. The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council must finish the pretrial detention report by September 30, 2026. It must also finish the juvenile pretrial detention report by September 30, 2026. Parts of the reporting rules only start after two earlier acts take effect: the Prioritizing Public Safety Emergency and the Secure DC Omnibus. These rules set clear timelines and improve public oversight of detention reporting.
