Women's fibroid records protected from public access

Beginning July 1, 2026, the law protects records about women diagnosed with or treated for uterine fibroids. It covers records and identifying information submitted to Florida’s Department of Health for its uterine fibroid research database. These records are confidential and exempt from public-records disclosure, protecting patients’ privacy while limiting public access. The exemption ends October 2, 2031, unless state lawmakers review and reenact it.
