Address privacy expands for dating violence victims

Beginning July 1, 2026, Florida’s Address Confidentiality Program covers dating violence victims and protects their identifying information from disclosure. Participants can use an Attorney General-designated mailing address to keep their home, school, or work address private. Adults can apply for themselves; parents or guardians can apply for minors, and guardians can apply for people legally found incapacitated. Applications require a sworn statement about victim status and fear for safety, plus a statement that address disclosure increases the risk. Qualifying violence or threats must involve a continuing, significant romantic or intimate relationship, but need not be reported to police. The Attorney General designates agencies and nonprofit counseling and shelter providers to help applicants; justice agencies must inform victims about the program.
