New trafficking course required for nurse applicants

The law takes effect July 1, 2026. Beginning July 1, 2027, applicants for initial Florida nurse licenses by exam must complete a 2-hour human trafficking course. This applies to registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. The course must cover the content required for Florida's existing human trafficking continuing education course. The law does not specify a course fee or reimbursement.
