Bill Overview

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Conflicting laws are repealed

The law repeals any earlier laws that conflict with this Act. Only the parts that clash are removed. Other laws stay the same.

County voters decide on redevelopment tools

The county must hold a referendum on November 4, 2025. It must publish the date and purpose at least 90 days before, and again once a week for the two weeks before the vote. The ballot asks whether to let the county use state redevelopment powers like tax allocation districts and bonds. Toombs County pays the election costs, and the superintendent certifies results to the Secretary of State. If more than half vote Yes, these powers take effect right away; if not or the vote is not held, the Act is repealed on January 1, 2026.
