Guardrails for Colquitt court tech fees

The clerk keeps all collected technology fees in a separate account. The money can be used only for the State Court and Sheriff technology needs, like computers and software; audio-visual, imaging, scanning, communications, and printing gear; and services to digitize and archive records for public access. The law also repeals any earlier laws that conflict, so these rules apply.

Colquitt traffic fines add $10 fee

The State Court of Colquitt County adds a $10 technology fee to each fine for motor vehicle and traffic violations under Title 40. The fee applies to every separate fine from that court. On July 1, 2035, the clerk can no longer charge this fee. Any money left in the fund stays dedicated to Colquitt County technology needs.
