Glynn tourism tax funds promotion and projects

When the county collects lodging tax above a 5% rate, at least 50% of that extra money must promote tourism, conventions, and trade shows. The county’s destination marketing group, or another allowed contractor, spends those funds. The rest of the extra money must go to tourism product development in Glynn County.

Glynn County lodging tax up to 7%

Glynn County levies an excise tax on paid overnight stays. The county can set the rate up to 7% of the room charge. Hotels, motels, inns, lodges, tourist camps, and campgrounds must add the tax and send it to the county. This raises the price guests pay for lodging in Glynn County.
