Technology fee money is kept in a separate account by the probate clerk. It can only pay for court technology, like computers, software, scanners, printers, and communications gear. It can also pay to convert court records to digital files for public access. When the fee authority ends, any leftover money stays dedicated to Crawford County technology uses.
The clerk of the Crawford County Probate Court can charge a technology fee. The probate judge sets the amount, up to $5 per civil case filing. The court can also add up to $5 to each fine. The money pays for the court’s technology. The power to charge these fees ends on July 1, 2035.
