Age-based school tax break for Dublin homeowners

The law gives Dublin City school tax relief to homeowners who live in their home, based on age. Ages 62–64 get $7,000 off assessed value; 65–72 get $14,000; 73–79 get $21,000; age 80+ get a full assessed‑value exemption. It only cuts City of Dublin school taxes, not state, county, city, or county school district taxes, and it does not cut the bond tax. This replaces, and does not stack with, any other Dublin school‑tax homestead exemption. You must apply once with the City; it renews each year if you keep living there, and you must tell the City if you become ineligible. Your homestead can include up to 23 contiguous acres. It runs January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2030, and it is subject to a November 4, 2025 city referendum; if a majority did not approve, the Act is repealed one year after the election.
