Beginning July 1, 2035, the court cannot charge the technology fee. If you file after that date, you do not pay this fee.
The clerk must keep technology fee money in a separate account. The money can pay only for court technology, like computers, scanners, communications, and software. It can also fund conserving court records and digital archiving for public access. After the fee ends, any leftover money stays set aside for Richmond County technology and is not refunded.
The court can charge a technology fee on each civil action filed in the Richmond County Probate Court. The probate judge sets the amount, up to $10 per filing.
