Georgia now pays cash awards to employer or apprenticeship sponsors. You can get up to $2,500 one time for each apprentice, paid 12 months after the apprentice starts. When the apprentice finishes the contract, you also get a completion award based on training hours. That completion award is capped at $10,000 per apprentice for contracts entered before July 1, 2024, and $5,000 per apprentice for contracts entered on or after July 1, 2024.
Employer and apprenticeship sponsors can contract with the State Board to run an apprenticeship for a named apprentice. Each contract requires the apprentice to complete the program. Through the end of FY2024, each sponsor may enter contracts for up to 5 apprentices per year. Starting in FY2025, the limit is 10 apprentices per sponsor per year. The State Board can set and clarify contract terms, and each agreement with a sponsor controls those terms.
