2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.
Beginning January 1, 2026, Peach County exempts 10% of your homestead’s assessed value from county property taxes. The cut applies only to Peach County taxes for county purposes. It does not cover state, school, city, or county bond taxes. You must file an application with the Peach County tax commissioner. After approval, it renews each year while you live there. You must tell the tax commissioner if you move or become ineligible. This exemption is in addition to other Peach County homestead exemptions. It takes effect only if voters approve it on November 4, 2025.
Peach County holds a vote on November 4, 2025, on the homestead tax break. If more than half vote Yes, it starts January 1, 2026. If it fails or the election is not run as required, Section 1 does not take effect and the Act is repealed 365 days after the election. Peach County pays the election costs. The superintendent must publish notices, run the vote, and certify results; voters can ask a court to order compliance. State law also requires a two-thirds vote in both the Georgia Senate and House for this Act.
