The Probate Court of Crawford County can charge a technology fee. It is up to $5 for each civil case filing and up to $5 added to each court fine. The probate judge sets the exact amount and how it is collected. The clerk keeps all fee money in a separate account. The money only pays for court technology: computers and software; hardware leases, maintenance, and installs; imaging, scanning, fax, communications, projection, and printing gear and software; and converting court records and archives to digital for public access. The court can charge this fee through July 1, 2035. Any leftover funds after that stay dedicated to Crawford County technology uses.
